Reverse Positive Pay
Reverse Positive Pay is a fraud mitigation service which allows early detection of fraudulent, altered or counterfeit checks by creating and posting a daily report of presented checks to users of Small Business Digital Banking for payment approval.
Service Features
- Daily Check Presentation Alerts: Automatic notifications when checks are presented against an account.
- Check Review & Authorization: Secure online platform to view check details (check number, amount, payee, presented date), compare presented checks against check register, and authorize or decline each check.
- Decision Window for Exception Items: Approve/return decisions should be submitted each day, no later than 2:00 p.m. CT.
- Return Item Process: Return item and receive credit back to account for all decisions made to return a check (all checks will be returned as “Refer to Maker”).
- Decision Record: History of decisions available online.

Getting Started
- Prior to 2:00 p.m. CT, log in to the online portal of Digital Banking (feature not currently available in Mobile app).
- For first-time users, under “Helpful Tools,” there will be an enrollment button for Reverse Positive Pay. Note: Only Fully Entitled Users have access to Reverse Positive Pay.
- You will need to view both a high-level introduction to Reverse Positive Pay and a Legal Disclosure (which is required to proceed).
- Once reviewed and you’ve agreed to the terms, you are now enrolled.
- Select the “Reverse Positive Pay” tab.
- Click “View Image” under "Today’s Transactions."
- If you suspect the check to be fraudulent/modified, select “Return this Check."
