David and Marcella were excellent. Very responsive and took care of us. The breakdown came when the appraisal didn't come to us. After about a week I emailed in asking about it and Bonnie took the reigns and sent us the report and then told us she needed more documents. We uploaded everything she asked for and then went a day or two with no communication. I emailed again to make sure we were still on track and then suddenly we had to provide more documents and information. This happened several times toward the end of the process and a lot of what was being asked for was the same things that had already been uploaded to the portal. After a bit longer I emailed again to make sure they had everything they needed and that we were still on track to close within the week and was told that eveything was good. Then later that night we again got a request for even more documents. By this point we were only a couple of days away from closing. The reply's to my inquiries were either not sent at times or were very delayed. This dragged on so long that my realtor and the title company were both asking me for updates and the title company was emailing directly and weren't getting any responses. They told me that if they didn't have the certain documents from the bank by noon on Friday we wouldn't be able to close the following Monday like scheduled. I was still emailing in to verify everything was good and was finally told that we were done with our part and it was submitted to underwriting but didn't know how long it would take for that to complete. By this time it was Friday morning and we had no idea if we were going to be able to close or not. By the end of the process the bank got the information needed over to the title company at 11:30. This was the most stressful and anger inducing process I have ever dealt with when purchasing a home. We are grateful that it finally got completed and we were able to close on time, but this process makes me wonder if I even want to do loan business with this bank again. We also definitely know now to NEVER use a 401K for the down payment because it was ridiculous how many items they wanted because of that.
