How does the sunsetting of the program by First Horizon affect my card?

First Horizon Bank sent a letter in November 2023 to all registered cardholders to inform cardholders that we are discontinuing the First Horizon Companion Card program and will be closing First Horizon Companion Cards on March 15, 2024.

As of January 17, 2024, you’ll no longer be able to fund your First Horizon Companion Card. If you have any direct deposits or ACH transfers linked to your card, please work with the company or agency making the deposits to avoid a delay in receiving your funds.

Effective March 15, 2024, you’ll no longer be able to perform any transactions with your First Horizon Fast Funds Card. What does this mean for you? You have two options:

  1. You can use the remaining funds on your First Horizon Companion Card by making purchases or ATM withdraws on or before March 14, 2024.
  2. Or you can close your card and request a refund by calling 888-222-5056.

Any funds remaining on your First Horizon Companion Card on March 15 will be refunded to you by check and will be mailed to your address registered with the program. Refunds by check can take up to 30 days. Beginning in January as a courtesy, we will no longer charge the monthly maintenance fee, but all other program fees continue to apply until your card(s) is closed.

Please note that you will be able to continue viewing your online account info at www.firsthorizon.com/companion through May 15, 2024.
