Terry Akins is senior executive vice president and chief risk officer for First Horizon Corporation, responsible for overseeing risk management, compliance and regulatory relations for the company.

Before joining First Horizon, Akins worked for IBERIABANK as senior executive vice president and chief risk officer for three years. In addition, during her time with IBERIABANK, she worked closely with market leadership and served as the director of commercial strategic initiatives, where she was responsible for managing resources for the commercial and private banking segments.

Akins has a strong background in risk management and market leadership, having spent 17 years at Wachovia Bank in various risk and management positions, including large corporate banking, international risk administration, derivatives and foreign exchange.

In addition to her role as chief risk officer, Akins serves as the co-executive sponsor for the First Horizon Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council, and the executive sponsor for the Houston Women's Initiative, highlighting her commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Akins is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Tennessee.
